Savannah's Port Breaks Record in October

Savannah is the second busiest port on the East coast, and the fourth busiest in the United States. Governor Nathan Deal remarked that Savannah is the state's gateway to global commerce and the Port of Georgia is the crown jewel of the state. In October 2017, the Port of Savannah set a new record with a 32% growth over the last month. The growth is expected to bring new logistics jobs to Savannah as a result. New warehouse developments will begin and the Georgia Ports Authority is expected to grow into Atlanta, to accommodate retailers like Tory Burch and Williams Sonoma. New improvements in the Savannah port include a $128 million rail road expansion on the port's land that will be ready in year 2020. Soon, the port is acquiring new cranes and opening more truck lanes.

All of this will positively benefit commercial real estate in the area. Savannah is proud of our growing port system. At Stonestreet Properties, LLC we have tenants that are involved in the logistics field as well as construction and engineering. We are happy to be a part of the growing economic conditions in Savannah and look forward to growth in the future.
